Henderson County’s is the largest apple-producing county in NC. The apple harvest season runs from August-October. U-pick option at many orchards with family fun activities. Delicious apple cider donuts and other baked goods too!

Owenby’s Fruit Stand
Offers cider, apples, pumpkins, peaches, jellies, vegetables, honey, preserves, sorghum molasses and more.

Twisted Apple Orchard
Twisted Apple Orchard is Henderson County’s only natural grown apple orchard that is open to the public. Offering we-pick apples, seasonal fruits, baked goods, jellies, seasonal decor, gift items and more.

Apple House & Owenby Orchards
The Apple House is a family farm, corn maze, and roadside market selling fresh NC apples, peaches, jams, jellies, and fruit butters. The Owenby family has been farming and growing apples in Edneyville for nearly 60 years. We currently farm nearly 90 acres, including apple orchards with a large variety of NC Apples. Our roadside farm market, The Apple House, has been operating for 20 years.

Coston Farm & Apple House
Coston Farms offers a memorable pick-your-own experience with the NC mountains as a backdrop. Delicious apples guaranteed every year! Offers we-pick or pick-your-own apples, wagon rides through the orchard, pumpkins, cider baked goods, gift items, preserves and more!

Jimmy Nix & Sons Apple House
Visit Jimmy Nix and Sons for all of your apple needs! We are a 3rd generation family farm located in Hendersonville, NC. Offers apples, cider, peaches, pears, cabbages, apple cider donuts, jams, jellies, honey and crafts.

Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard
The 100 acre Farm offers over 20 varieties of U-pick apples, U-pick sunflowers as well as U-pick pumpkins in October. Apple cider donuts are made fresh daily and additional other baked goods, apple butter, kettle corn, jellies, honey, and handmade soaps are also available. The 5 acre corn maze is open daily during the fall season. Activities on the weekends include: apple cannons, tractor pulled wagon rides and jump pad. You pick grapes are available from mid-August into September.

J & M Farms
J&M Farms (previously known as Freeman Orchards) is a family-owned and operated farm as well as Hendersonville’s only orchard to offer a large selection of heirloom apples — some varieties dating back as far as the 1830s! The original farmer here even created some of his own varieties, which are still grown right here on the farm. At J&M Farms, you will also find peaches, fresh apple cider, jellies, jams, preserves, local honey, chow chow, pickles, salsa and hot sauce.

Grandad’s Apples N’ Such
Grandads Apples N’ Such is a family owned and operated business since 1994, with four generations of apple growing experience. Enjoy a variety of family fun activities including a corn maze, pumpkin patch, and even an apple cannon! Select pre-picked apples fresh off the trees daily from our bins or enjoy you-pick. A must try at the farm are our hot cider donuts! Also available for purchase are apple pies, cookies, hot cider, apple cider slushies, and many other apple goodies to eat. Offers We-pick & U-pick apples (while quantities last), peaches, pumpkins, apple products, cider, and baked goods.

Barnwell’s Apple House
Odell and Fladys Barnwell opened their first apple shed in 1959. It was a small wooden structure that now stands behind the current packing house, and is still in use today. The Barnwell’s make fresh pressed apple cider, pasturized apple cider, and apple cider vinegar. Throughout the years, Gladys and Odell continued to expand their orchards. They went from a small, 15 acre apple orchard to various orchards of over 100 acres. The vegetable production has also increased, with a large variety of veggies grown each year. The Barnwell’s now have an additional 10 acres of peach orchards.

Mountain Fresh Orchards
At Mountain Fresh Orchards, they grow 17 varieties of apples, including: Honey Crisp, Gala, Jonathan, Shizuoka, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Ambrosia, Stayman/Winesap, Granny Smith, Must, Rome Beauty, Arkansas Black, Fuji, Pink Lady, Cameo, Grimes Golden and Jonagold.

Old Orchard Tavern
Located at the Cascades Mountain Resort, the Old Orchard Tavern is open to hotel guests and the public. Focuses on local ingredients when possible and has seasonal specialties. The menu features Grass-fed Ribeye Steak, Friend-Green-Tomato Caprese, artisan burgers, fresh seafood, local ingredients, & more.

Offers apples, cider, pumpkins, fruits, vegetables & field trips/tours.

McConnell Farms
One of Hendersonville’s few apple orchards that stays open year-round, McConnell Farms grows and sells apples, figs, strawberries, asparagus, sunflowers, tomatoes, ginger, and many other fruits and veggies. They also make their own old fashioned ice cream, apple cider, apple cider donuts, pumpkin donuts, preserves, jellies, jams, and salsas all on-site.

Holt Orchards
Holt Orchards is a borther and sister team working to keep their stepfather’s dream of having an apple farm alive. They offer apples, take & bake apple crisp, honey, apple cider donuts, cider and many other items.

Lively Orchards
Offers apples, fresh cider, peaches, Asian pears, and cherries.

Sky Top Orchard
Sky Top Orchard strives to make each person’s visit memorable. Every year, they add new attractions or improvements for your enjoyment. They offer We-pick or U-pick apples & peaches, cider, baked goods, preserves, pumpkins, gourds, hayrides, barnyard animals and playground.

Jeter Mountain Farm
Offers 23 varieties of apples available in their U-pick orchards in addition to peaches, and blueberries. Flat Rock Cider Co. Taproom at Jeter Mountain Farms serves 6 hard ciders on tap, including a special Jeter Mountain Farm original blend, only available at the Jetter Mountain Farm Taproom.

Barry Farms
Barry Farms is family owned and operated using sustainable practices offering a variety of herbs, succulents, vegetable starts, perennial plants and natives. The Farm also produces a field grown of beautiful cut flowers. The farm is not open to the public on a daily basis but we do offer a road side seasonal “Flower Shack”.

Justus Orchard
Offers U-pick and we-pick apples and blackberries, cider, peaches, pumpkins, vegetables, canned goods and a picnic area.

Pilot Mountain Pears
Offers we-pick, U-pick, apples, Asian pears, baked goods, a wide variety of jams, jellies, butters, marmalade, molasses and locally grown honey.
