The N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services launched the Visit NC Farms app in 2018 as a pilot program. Today, 86 of 100 counties are active in the app to include four state farmers markets and more than 1500 agribusinesses. With the help of the NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission, the initiative is expanding statewide to connect millions of residents and visitors with local farms & fisheries, local food & drink, farmers markets & u-pick, value-added through local shops, farm stays & lodging, tours & trails and special agricultural events across the state to include your county/region.
The Visit NC Farms App is expanding statewide thanks to funding from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. Individual counties or collections of communities are receiving opt-in funding and marketing support to join the cooperative effort in support of local farms and local food.
Through integrated research and outreach efforts, North Carolina Sea Grant enhances the sustainable use of ocean, coastal and watershed resources, benefitting communities, economies and ecosystems.
