The Best Mother's Day Ever (It Starts on a Farm)

Do something you’ll remember. Another Mother’s Day Brunch at a Restaurant or a Day on the Farm. You decide. A full listing of activities, events, brunches, and more are available this weekend.

Mother's Day is just around the corner, (Sunday May 14th to be exact), and you might be wondering what to do to make your mom feel special on her day.

A normal thing to do is send a card, buy some flowers, and take her to brunch (extra mimosas, please). This is nice, but is it memorable? Is this something you’ll look back to and remember? Is this something she’ll look back to and cherish?

While there are many ways to celebrate Mother's Day, taking your mom to a farm can be a unique and memorable experience. Here are some reasons why you should consider taking your mom to a farm for Mother's Day.

Get Back to Nature

Taking your mom to a farm is an excellent way to get back to nature and enjoy the outdoors. Farms are usually located in peaceful and tranquil environments, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You and your mom can enjoy the fresh air, the greenery, and the natural beauty of the farm.

Learn About Farming

Farms are also great places to learn about farming and agriculture. You and your mom can see how crops are grown, how animals are raised, and how food is produced. You can also learn about the different types of plants and animals that live on the farm.

Enjoy Fresh Food

Many farms offer fresh produce, eggs, and meat that you can purchase and cook at home. You and your mom can enjoy a farm-to-table meal and taste the difference in freshness and quality.

We love seeing the orange color of farm fresh eggs. While store bought egg yolks are yellow, farm fresh eggs have a rich orange color. Give them a taste, and you might never go back!

Bonding Experience

Taking your mom to a farm for Mother's Day can be a bonding experience for both of you. You can spend quality time together, away from distractions, and create lasting memories.

Fun Activities

Farms offer a variety of fun activities that you and your mom can enjoy together. You can go on a hayride, pick your own fruits and vegetables, feed the animals, or take a nature walk. There are also often opportunities for horseback riding, zip-lining, and other unique activities like Goat Yoga.

Below is a listing of just some of the activities available on the farm this weekend. Open the Visit NC Farms app today (Apple / Android) and find your perfect Mother’s Day excursion.
